Asako As a Scholar:

I hold an Ed.D in Language, Literacy, and Cultures from Boston University, an M.A. in Special Education from Georgia Southwestern College, and a second M.A. in Japanese Pedagogy from Columbia University.
I pursued a doctoral degree at Boston University and MA Program at Columbia University simultaneously and successfully finished both courses in 2000. I have utilized the knowledge gained from both Boston University and Columbia University in actual teaching practices and have developed innovative teaching materials. One project, which developed educational materials with music for JSL students, was accomplished and distributed last year.
I have recently attended and presented my studies at various workshops and academic conferences, such as the Southeast Association of Teachers of Japanese Conference, the Canadian Association for Japanese Language Education (CAJLE) Annual Conference and the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) Conference.
